Camp Mather. Summer 2003. We go every year. Unless you count Christmas with family, I don't. Although that is a vacation. It hasn't been so long, but we are planning our next one, during Easter vaction, either the White Mountains in Eastern Sierras or a springy wildflowery desert or both.
2. Was child birth the most physically/mentally painful thing you've ever done in your life? If not, what was?
No, raising them has been much harder. I don't want to go into the other pain in my life that I've felt in this response... but there are much harder things, although I will admit childbirth hurts a LOT. It really does feel like you are trying to pass a watermelon, definitely.
3. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Hrm, maybe in grad school or out of it, finally doing the policy work I've wanted to do. Perhaps I will be a politician, in the Bay Area, anything is possible.
4. 10 years ago did you see yourself where you are now?
I guess I wished I'd be further along. I am now where I wished I could have been ten years ago.
5. If you could only read 1 book (ONE BOOK!) for the rest of your life, what would it be? why?
Stop asking me this. I can not and will never decide. Okay, howabout a huge anthology of English and American Literature, taped to the Bible, taped to Graves' greek mythology books, taped to the collected works of Philip K Dick and Heinlein plus something useful like a dictionary and the Tibetan Book of the Dead?
