I've had "It's time for the percolater" stuck in my head all day. I wonder how many people who know that song are old enough to have had coffee made in a percolater.

I have another, longer post in me, about how people used to always offer people coffee. To some extent they still do, it's a token of hospitality that is more than the coffee itself. Car washes and banks used to always have a pot going. I have no reason to go into a carwash, but I think banks are coffee-less now. I guess the ATMs did them in.
